Golfing
Just a mile north of The Red Door, The North West Golf Club is a testing course for golfers of all categories. The views are breathtaking from every hole and this well manicured course is open all year round. It is the home club of Irish Internationals Brian McElhinney and Michael McGeady.

Overlooking Lough Swilly, Buncrana Golf Club is the oldest 9-hole links course in Ireland. Less than two miles north of The Red Door, it delivers a challenge to the most advance golfers yet, offers enjoyment to beginners also.

Fishing
Day permits (dawn to dusk) are available for The Crana River for €40. There is also a 7 day permit, which costs €100 and €50 for each subsequent week. Fullerton Reservoir permits include a boat with electric engine, oars & lifejacket. The reservoir can be booked for the day session (9.30am to 4.30pm) or evening session (5.30pm to dusk). The fishery is Fly only (No bait fishing) and there is a bag limit of 2 trout. Permits cost: 1 angler in a boat €30, 2 anglers in the boat, €40, 3 anglers in the boat, €50.

Walking/Jogging
The Buncrana Shore Trail is a 3k traffic-free walk which starts in Buncrana and extends north along the coast to the sandy beach at Stragill Strand. The path has stunning views of Lough Swilly where John Newton was inspired to write the world-famous hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ after being saved from a severe storm on April 8th 1748.
