The wedding couples and guests of Summer 2018 may have wondered if they’d actually opted for a wedding abroad rather than at The Red Door Country House in Fahan. With over 30 couples choosing to say “I Do” in the gardens overlooking Lough Swilly and Inch Island, al fresco nuptials were the most popular option at the venue this Summer.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies became legal in Ireland in 2014 and since then, the red carpet has been laid on the grass at The Red Door with every glimmer of sunshine. And for those less fortunate with the weather, the conservatory-style Willow Room affords the same spectacular view from the comfort of indoors.
The latest addition to the grounds, ‘The Terrace’ is an outdoor seating area for arrival drinks receptions. This area was bathed in sunshine for the best part of the Summer with sun screen and Aloe Vera making rare appearances in the essentials toiletries baskets!
The Terrace is also available for dining at weekends and blankets are provided complimentary to beat the evening chill. As the heatwave takes a break, the Terrace menu, a light bite style menu, is also available indoors alongside our famous Afternoon Tea on Saturdays.
If you are looking for a wedding venue that incorporates its magnificent setting into every moment of the wedding day, look no further than The Red Door Country House along the Wild Atlantic Way. Enjoy the spectacular views right up until the sun sets over Inch Island.
Thanks to Beaver Log Cabins for the prompt and professional service and the beautiful asset they helped to add to the venue.
